Immunoreactivity against extracellular matrix proteins. Serum was screened for immunoreactivity towards native elastin (a), carbonyl-modified elastin (b) and carbonyl-modified collagen V (c) using ELISA. Antibody titres were determined as detailed in materials and methods. Results are expressed as mean ± SEM for each patient group. Statistical analysis was performed using the Kruskal–Wallis test with no significant difference identified between the patient groups (p > 0.05)
